MBBS in Russia follows a standard curriculum based on the government guidelines for General Medicine dividing the course into two main halves. The total duration is basically 6 years. In the first three years (1st, 2nd and 3rd), students learn about the human body. How it works, catches diseases and how they are cured. These years have subjects like Physiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Pharmacology etc. In the next three years (4th, 5th and 6th), students learn to apply that knowledge by visiting hospitals. They learn to take responsibilities and given clinical clerkships in the hospitals which include taking care of patients under attending doctors or residents. These years have subjects like Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine etc. Students learn how healthcare actually works in these 3 years. After completing 6 years, convocation ceremonies are arranged generally in July after which you're officially a doctor. As an Indian student, you need to return back to India, pass NEXT (National Exit Test) and then do an internship for a year.
After the completion of internship, you are officially licensed to practice by the respective state council and you'll then be on the same page with Indian Medical Graduates.
